Clayton (pop 2,500) is a small town located in the heart of 'dinosaur country'. Millions of years ago this area was a hotbed for dinosaur life and dinosaur remains and footprints are a modern reminder of who dominated the food chain here long ago. Visitors to the Clayton area will find several excellent areas for recreational opportunity just outside town, with an interesting geological and paleontological twist.
Clayton is small and has limited accommodations, though what is available is clean and affordable.
