Description

At the trailhead is a 10 to 15 car parking lot with a toilet and garbage facilities. The trail is gradual in climb from 9,300 feet. On this trail is located the San Gregorio Reservoir which is about a mile from the trailhead. Vegetation is mixed conifer, aspen, shrubs, and grasses. The trail is mostly through spruce type with occasional openings. Water is abundant throughout the trail. Trail destination is San Pedro Parks which is a distance of about eight miles from the trailhead. The Parks is a large meadow surrounded by dense stands of spruce. The trail crosses some open meadows with fir and aspen, along with heavy timber stands of spruce.

Basic Directions

Travel north from Cuba Ranger Station on State Highway 550 for 1 mile to the junction of State Highway 550 and 44 and 126 turn right at the junction and continue on State Highway 126 eastward for a distance of 10.8 miles to a sign indicating the direction to the San Pedro Park Wilderness. Turn left at the sign and travel north Forest Road 70 from the turnoff for a distance of 2.7 miles to the trailhead and parking lot which is signed.
