Description

Upper Scorpion Campground are the nearest campgrounds to the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. The Gila River runs nearby the campgrounds and is home to an abundant of wildlife. This is a good campground for tent and car camping. Vehicles are parked in a parking lot and camping equipment is carried to the campsite. No reservations are taken. Everything is on a first come, first serve basis. Water is available. Restrooms are temporarily not available due to repairs.

Doc Campbells general store is about 3 miles south. Phones are available here or at the Cliff Dwellings visitor center. They also have gas, sell hunting & fishing licenses & sell grocery items. Hot springs showers are available for $2.00 per person.

Camping gear should be carried to campsite.
