Description

The Rio Puerco Trail provides a steep access into the San Pedro Parks Wilderness. It is within a heavy mixed conifer timber type and passes through several aspen stands and meadows.

No motor vehicles or motorized equipment in the wilderness area.

The trail is in fairly good shape and there is little chance of losing it except in the meadows where the vegetation covers it. When in doubt, lookj for post markes in the meadows.

Non-potable water is available at several points along the trail.
