Truth or Consequences - Fishing
Truth or Consequences is located along the banks of the mighty Rio Grande River which offers a good place for both spin and flyfishers alike. Just outside town to the northwest visitors will find excellent fishing at Elephant Lake State Park, formed by the damming of the Rio Grande River, and named for a rock formation resembling and elephant on its shores. Elephant Lake is well known for its excellent bass, catfish and crappie fishing and guide services are available. To the south of Truth or Consequences along I-25, visitors will find good lake fishing at Caballo Lake, another reservoir along the Rio Grande River corridor. Visitors should check with one of the local outdoor stores for more specific information on destinations, rules and regulations for specific waterways and licensing.
