Silver City		Population: 10,000

	Silver City, tucked into the southern foothills of the Pinos Altos Mountains at 6000 feet in elevation, is located at a climate transition zone, where the lower elevation intense deserts of southwestern New Mexico give way to the higher elevation, cool alpine climes of the Gila National Forest. Spreading out to the north of town are the Mogollan Mountains, once a hotbed for silver mining and the inspiration for the founding of Silver City in the 19th century. Silver City still retains much of its former mining town feel with Victorian style facaded storefronts and quaint street systems.
