Only a short drive from Albuquerque's city center, Sandia Peak Ski Area offers skiers and snowboarders a good place to get their slide on. Featuring the worlds longest tramway at 2.7 miles, Sandia Peak averages 150 inches of annual snowfall and crests at 10,300 feet in elevation. A mid-sized family resort, perfect for the advanced-intermediate rider, Sandia Peak Ski Area is also very popular with the Nordic skiing set, with several miles of groomed trails. Nordic skiers looking for trails with fewer crowds can take advantage of the maze of trail systems available in the Cibola National Forest located off NM Highway 237 to the southeast of town.
