Description

Wright's Cabin is a developed campground located in the Black Range Mountains, approximately 40 miles east of Silver City and 17 miles west of Kingston. It is situated in a beautiful area of mixed conifer with a thick forest floor. Wright's Cabin is a great place to explore a dense, dark forest without having to wander too far into the woods. The campground also offers Adirondack style shelters and rock fire rings.

The campground is located 50 yards up the hill from the parking lot. Visitors must transport camping gear from vehicles to site. This makes for a great opportunity to taste a little backcountry.

A few general stores are located in the Mimbres Valley, approximately 20 miles west of the campground along NM Hwy 152. Food, phone, and gasoline are available.

Shelters are first come, first served. This is a good place to camp if you just want to get away from things for awhile.
