Description

Trail 31 is used mainly for hiking and horseback riding and packing. It is a steep climb until it's junction with Trail 30. It passes through heavy timber stands of mixed conifer, spruce, fire and aspen. Open, wet meadows are also encountered along the trail.

The trail passes by the summit of San Pedro Peaks at 10,523 feet. The trail provides an excellent view of the Llaves and Cerro Blanco areas to the north.

Trail 31 is part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail.
