Description
As described, the first 1.5 miles of the trail will consist of hiking on a road that has been closed. Once you get to Peralta Ridge the trail starts to drop into the steep Peralta Canyon, dropping over 1600 feet in elevation within two miles.
Peralta Canyon has a perennial stream which follows through most of its entirety. This water should be treated before drinking or even better, hikers are encouraged to bring water.
