Basic Directions
Take Highway 70 west from Ruidoso to Tularosa and turn north on Highway 54. Travel to Three Rivers and turn east on Forest Service Road 579. Follow Forest Service Road 579 to its end at Three Rivers Campground (13miles). Forest Service Trail 44 follows the entire stretch of Three Rivers which runs around 6 miles. Forest Service Trail #44 follows along Three Rivers. The entire stretch of Forest Service Trail #44 is found in the White Mountain Wilderness.
