Silver City - Biking
Just outside Silver City, hundreds of miles of mountain bike
accessible trails within the Gila National Forest beckon eager
mountain bikers. Trails in the Gila are rolling, hilly and rocky,
winding through a mix of pine forest and open grassland.
With a warm and rather dry climate, rides in the Silver City area
are generally accessible year round. Riders will find the Little
Walnut area, the Fort Bayrd area and the Signal Peak area, all within
15 miles of Silver City, offer a good variety of biking terrain from
easy to difficult and allow riders to bike along several sections of
the Continental Divide trail as it winds through the area.
