Ruidoso - Biking

The Ruidoso area is an extremely popular destination with cyclists of all types looking to beat the heat of the surrounding desert climate and enjoy some excellent scenery and a good workout on the same token. Road bikers have access to several scenic rides that leave straight from town, the most popular of these including the Ski Apache Resort access road and the winding Sierra Blanca Lookout road with its commanding views of the 12,003 foot Sierra Blanca massif. Mountain bikers will be overwhelmed by the sheer number of trails available for exploration in the White & Sacramento Mountains that surround Ruidoso. Bike trails range from old mining roads to luscious single track and mountain bikers of all sorts will find trails to fit their fitness and ability. For visitors looking for all the downhill thrills of a good mountain bike ride without the uphill grunt, Ski Apache offers lift served mountain biking during the summer months.
