Description

From Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Area, take T68 to T215. The trail winds its way from the bottom of Sitting Bull Canyon up a side canyon to the top of a mesa via several switchbacks constructed by the Civil Conservation Corps in the late 1930s. The T215 portion of the trail is an elevation change of 530 feet.

From the highest point on the mesa, views stretch from a water tower in Artesia, NM across Indian Basin.

After experiencing the views, hike T217 for 2.8 miles and T226 for three miles to loop back to Last Chance Trailhead and another .5 miles to Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Area.
